Launched after many years of successful operation of the 12300 series instruments, the new 12400 series digital buoyancy sensor/level controller gives the user much more control over the process. Corresponding to the SIL2 safety level, its design is simpler, more economical and provides performance characteristics not previously available on the market for this type of equipment.
With design benefits such as smart filtering, HART® communication protocol compatibility, an optional 4-20mA analog output and more, the 12400 series design provides exceptional process control over a wide range of operating parameters, including harsh operating conditions. This is the first device that combines the functions of a level sensor, controller and discrete outputs. In addition, it is easy to install and easy to maintain. This development provides optimal efficiency, reliability and the possibility of modernization, which makes the purchase of the device a profitable investment for the long term.
The Masoneilan 12400 Series is a two-wire, loop-powered level sensor or controller with HART protocol that operates on the proven buoy - torsion tube principle. A change in fluid level affects the net weight of the buoy, thereby increasing or decreasing the load on the torsion tube by an amount directly proportional to the change in fluid level. Further rotation of the rod and attached magnets changes the magnetic field around the non-contact sensor, producing an analog signal proportional to the level in the reservoir. This analog signal is converted to an error-free digital signal, which is processed by an embedded microcontroller. After processing, the digital signal is converted to an analog output signal of 4-20 mA.
This measurement method is non-contact, eliminates friction and ensures complete isolation of the transducer from the working environment.

The Masoneilan 12400 Series is a HART-based digital level sensor or buoy type controller with a dual-loop power supply.
Setup and calibration of this high-tech device is accomplished using ValVue, EDDL language, DTM, handheld communicator/control buttons, and digital display.
The universal design allows the operator to perform settings, calibration and use other functions of the device either on site or from the hardware room.
Pneumatic level controllers of the 12800 series are designed to control and/or transmit a level signal in a container with a two-phase medium (the interface of the medium).
The 12800 series controllers work on the principle of liquid displacement and torsion.
